Why Transformation Doesn't Just Happen

I heard a story this week that made me smile – and then made me think...
A wildlife producer had set up cameras around his garden to watch the birds. One camera followed a nest of baby birds from the moment they hatched.
At first, their parents did everything for them. They would fly in, bring worms and the chicks would stretch up and open their mouths wide to receive what was given.
Then they grew.
They left the nest.
And one day, they were on the ground.
The storyteller described watching these young birds see worms right in front of them. Instead of picking them up, they simply opened their mouths and waited – as though the food would somehow make its way in on its own!
It was funny. But also revealing.
Because sometimes we are just like that.
We long for change.
We pray for growth.
We talk about purpose.
We dream about becoming the person we know we could be.
But we wait.
We wait for confidence to come...for clarity to appear..for someone else to show us exactly what to do.
As though transformation will arrive without participation.
There comes a point in every life when you must move from being fed to stepping forward.
Because God has invited you to grow.
Verse of the Week
"Work out your own salvation with fear and trembling; for it is God who works in you both to will and to do for His good pleasure."
— Philippians 2:12-13
The Time to Shine journey is not about waiting for life to happen to you...it's about responding to what God has already placed within you.
Sometimes the opportunity is already in front of you; the next step is clearer than you want it to be. Sometimes you are more ready than you think.
But growth requires movement.
This week, ask yourself:
Where am I waiting to be spoon-fed, when I am actually ready to step forward?
And then make that first step.
Have a blessed day and keep shining! ✨
