Are You Planted in the Right Place for Growth?
Yesterday was one of those beautiful spring days.
Sun shining, just enough warmth in the air; the kind that makes you want to be outside doing something useful.
So I decided to do a bit of weeding.
I was clearing out one of my plant pots and pulled out what I assumed was just another weed. Nothing unusual. But as I lifted it, I paused.
It wasnât a weed.
It was growing from an acorn.
I had an oak tree sapling quietly growing in my plant pot.

I actually stopped and looked at it for a moment. Because oak trees arenât small, insignificant things. Given the right conditions, they grow into something enormous. Strong. Established. The kind of tree thatâs still standing long after everything around it has changed.
They can reach around 20 to 40 metres tall and live for hundreds of years.
All of that from an acorn.
And yet, there it was, trying to grow in a little plant pot.
It would never survive there.
And that got me thinking.
How often is that the case with us?
There is so much potential inside you.
So much more than you may have even allowed yourself to imagine.
But when youâre not planted in the right place â youâre not rooted in Godâs Word and your identity in Him and you havenât renewed your thinking â everything stays restricted.
Verse of the Week
âYes, again and again they tempted God, and limited the Holy One of Israel.â
âPsalm 78:41
If we stay small in our thinking, if we donât make room for what He wants to do, if we hold onto old patterns instead of allowing Him to renew our minds â itâs like keeping an oak tree in a plant pot.
Thereâs no space to grow.
Maybe the question this week is simple:
Where am I planted, really?
And is my thinking keeping me in a âplant potâ when I was made to grow far beyond it?
Ask the Lord if thereâs an area where youâve been limiting Him in your thinking. Then ask Him what your next step isâŚand take it.
Until next week,
Have a blessed day and keep shining!â¨
