Trying Harder Isn't the Answer This New Year

Happy New Year!
Every January the world asks the same question...
What are you going to change?
What will you fix?
What version of you is finally going to get it together this year?
And honestly...it sounds spiritual.
Disciplined.
Responsible.
But it isn't the gospel.
Jesus didn't come to help us improve the old life...
...He came to give us a completely new one.
So the Christian life was never meant to be about trying harder, managing the flesh, or endlessly working on yourself. That road is exhausting. And it never produces real fruit anyway.
Instead, Jesus keeps bringing us back to one simple thing...
Verse of the Week
"Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in Me."
— John 15:4
Fruit doesn't come from effort - it comes from connection.
And when you stop trying to shine on your own...
...when you stop fixing, striving, improving...
His life starts to show through you.
So as you make your plans and set your goals, remember...
You don't have to manufacture peace.
You don't have to force change.
You don't have to become impressive.
You just stay close.
This year isn't about a better version of you going forward...
...it's about Christ in you.
Until next week,
Have a blessed day and keep shining!✨
