How to Become More Sensitive to God's Voice
I know when I’ve worked my abs properly at the gym.
Usually, I know even better the next day!
I can feel muscles I wasn’t particularly conscious of before. They were there all along, but exercising them has suddenly made me very aware of them.
That’s very similar to becoming more sensitive to the Holy Spirit.

Verse of the Week
‘For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God.’
Romans 8:14
When you were born again, your spirit became alive to God. His Spirit communicates with your spirit, yet it’s very easy to spend most of your day conscious of everything else.
Your body makes you aware of the physical world – you hear the birds singing, smell something cooking or feel the warmth of the sun.
Your soul makes you aware of yourself – your thoughts, emotions, desires and reasoning.
Your spirit makes you aware of God.
If you want to become more sensitive to His leading, you need to become more conscious of what is happening in your spirit.
One of the best ways to develop that sensitivity is by praying in the Spirit.
Think about those ab exercises. The muscles were already there; exercising them didn’t create them. It strengthened them and made me much more conscious of them.
Praying in the Spirit gives your spirit a workout. As you spend time praying in tongues and fellowshipping with God, you become more spiritually aware and increasingly sensitive to His leading.
That is particularly important when you’re asking God to show you what He has for you.
His leading doesn’t always come as words that you ‘hear’. Often it is an inward knowing – a sense in your spirit that you know what to do, where to go or what He is showing you.
Sometimes you can miss it because it feels so natural that you assume it’s simply you talking to yourself.
So exercise your spirit. Spend time praying in the Spirit and become more conscious of the Holy Spirit within you.
The more sensitive you become to His leading, the more readily you’ll recognise that inward knowing when it comes.
What could change if you became more conscious of the Holy Spirit leading you from within?
Until next week,
Have a blessed day and keep shining!
