How to Stay Consistent When You Don't Feel Motivated

I'll be honest with you.
Today I don't feel particularly shiny.
Which feels slightly ironic, given my whole message is Time to Shine.
But this is real life.
Some days you feel clear, focused, energised. You can see the vision. You know why you're doing it.
...And some days...you just feel a bit lacklustre.
Not lost.
Not quitting.
Just flat.
Because of life.
Because the washing still needs doing and emails still need answering and there are about seventeen tabs open in your brain.
And suddenly the thing that once felt like a calling starts to feel like a luxury.
I wonder if you've had days like that too...
...when you're moving towards something – a goal, a dream, a sense that God is leading you somewhere – but emotionally, you're not feeling it at all.
Here's what I'm reminding myself today.
Shine is not a mood.
It's a decision.
A decision...
...to stay on track.
,,,to stay faithful.
...to stay the course even when the feeling isn't there.
Verse of the Week
“Therefore, my beloved brethren, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your labour is not in vain in the Lord.”
— 1 Corinthians 15:58
Some days being steadfast doesn't feel powerful, it just feels consistent.
You cannot be led by your feelings.
Feelings are real – but they are not reliable leaders.
If I let my mood decide whether I show up, I won't stay consistent.
What steadies me is remembering who I am in Christ.
I'm not doing this alone. He strengthens me. He equips me.
He helps me do what He has called me to do.
Even on the flat days.
Sometimes shining just means refusing to let your feelings decide your direction.
Have a blessed day and keep shining! ✨
