How to Embrace the Gifts God Has Given You
For years, I rather underestimated the value of being a good administrator.
Give me something to organise or a plan to put together and Iām in my element. But I used to look at other gifts that seemed more creative, visible or dynamic and wonder whether administration really mattered quite as much.
Perhaps youāve done something similar with one of your own gifts.
You see someone elseās gift and think, Iād love to be able to do that. What they have can somehow seem more significant than what God has given you.

Verse of the Week
'Woe to him who strives with his Maker!ā¦Shall the clay say to him who forms it, āWhat are you making?ā'
āIsa. 45:9
Those are strong words. But thereās something wonderfully reassuring behind them: God knows exactly what He is making.
He formed you deliberately. The gifts He placed within you arenāt random ā theyāre connected to His purpose for your life.
And itās not only the individual gifts that matter. Itās the combination.
Nobody else has your exact combination of gifts, personality, experiences, strengths and perspective. God knew the assignment He had for you when He formed you, and He knew what you would need for it.
When weāre wishing we were more like someone else, we can become so focused on what God put in their hands that we overlook what He put in ours.
Youāll never find fulfilment trying to become somebody God never created you to be.
So this week, ask the Lord:
āWhat have You put in me that I havenāt fully valued ā and how do You want to use it?ā
Something youāve considered ordinary may be an important part of the extraordinary plan your Father had in mind all along.
Until next week,
Have a blessed day and keep shining!
