Dreams Need Diligence
Some things sound wonderful in theory...
'This is my season.'
'I'm ready for more.'
'It's my time to shine.'
And then comes the less glamorous bit...the alarm clock, the discipline, turning up, the doing-it-when-you-don't-feel-like-it; keeping going when nothing seems to be happening yet.
That's often the point where people lose heart.

Verse of the Week
'The hand of the diligent will rule'
â Proverbs 12:24
Talent can help.
Excitement can help.
A new planner and coloured pens can certainly help.
But diligence is what counts.
When I was younger, I loved The Kids from 'Fame', especially the opening credits where the formidable dance teacher Miss Grant declares:
âYou've got big dreams. You want fame. Well, fame costs. And right here is where you start paying...in sweat.â
Now, most of us are not trying to become 1980s Broadway stars in leg warmers. But many of us do have dreams God has given us. A business. A ministry. A healthier body. A stronger marriage. A book. A new beginning.
And the principle still stands.
We need to dream, we need to pray and we need to speak faith-filled words.
But every day we need to be faithful, steady and willing to keep going when it just feels boring.
Thatâs where things begin to change.
So if progress feels slower than you hoped, donât be discouraged. You may simply be in the âsweatâ phase.
Stay with it, keep going and turn up again tomorrow.
Often the people who seem to âsuddenly shineâ have been polishing quietly for years.
Until next week,
Have a blessed day and keep shining! â¨
