Have you ever watched Downton Abbey? There’s a clear distinction between the family and the servants. A servant might receive instructions without knowing the reasons behind them.
Jesus says something remarkable to His disciples:
Verse of the Week
“…I have called you friends, for all things that I heard from My Father I have made known to you. You did not choose Me, but I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit…”
— John 15:15–16 (NKJV)

Friends. Chosen and appointment to bear fruit.
Jesus knew His disciples’ weaknesses when He chose them. They had plenty to learn, still He invited them to know His heart and take part in His work.
When you feel insecure about what God has called you to do, remember who chose you. Jesus already knows where you need to grow. You can trust Him to guide and equip you as you follow Him.
Friendship with Him is part of that calling. Spend time in His Word, talk things through with Him and listen. He has shared His heart with you, and you can trust His love for you as you take your next step.
How would remembering who chose you change the way you approach what He has asked you to do?
Until next week,
Have a blessed day and keep shining!
